JCCEB, RCPC, and Chabot Village Community Benefits Agreement

by the RCPC Board

The JCCEB, RCPC, and residents on the 5800/5900 block of Chabot Rd. negotiated and entered into this Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) after almost three years of discussion and the Oakland Planning Commission’s 4-0 decision on November 6, 2024, to approve the JCCEB project, which involved new community assembly and community education uses. The Planning Commission’s approval contained project and environmental mitigation measures raised by RCPC and the site’s most immediate neighbors. The CBA, which is an agreement among non-governmental parties, provides additional benefits and establishes a Neighborhood Committee that will meet at least semi-annually to seek to resolve potential JCCEB site and programmatic issues of neighborhood concern.

The agreement can be found here.
