More information:

Rockridge’s most thrilling day of the year returns on Sunday, October 26, from 11 am to 2pm, with tons of fun for kids of all ages. Trick-or-treating and other festivities will stretch for nearly a mile along College Avenue (and adjacent streets), with two main activity hubs outside the Rockridge Branch Library (5366 College Avenue) and at the College Avenue Presbyterian Church (5951 College Avenue).

The library, in partnership with the RCPC, will host Storytime between entertainment by Ricky Roo Puppets (11am) and music from Asheba (12:30pm). Museum of Children’s Art (MoChA) will be onsite hosting crafting tables for kids from 11am to 2pm. This year, the library parking lot and adjacent Manila Avenue will be closed to create more space for activities, and to serve as a picnic area. Attendees are encouraged to bring their takeout libations (non-alcoholic) and delectables from nearby restaurants

A family-friendly dance party will take place in the courtyard of College Avenue Presbyterian Church, with DJ Danny Santos spinning Halloween classics. Pumpkin decorating for kids is available from noon to 2pm.

Rockridge businesses will offer Halloween-themed sales, giveaways, tastings, pop-ups, and more. For example, Ben ‘N Nick’s (5612 College Avenue) plans to hand out mini soda floats and offer happy-hour specials for adults. Rockridge Market Hall (5655 College Avenue) will unveil a “Market Hall of Horrors,” featuring ghosts, pumpkins, and a haunted hall walk-through along the sidewalk.

The Rockridge District Association will host a photo booth at 5951 College, with big prizes for costumed kids and pups. Agent Kelly S. Wright from State Farm and other local businesses are sponsoring commemorative trick-or-treat bags for kids, which will be available for free at both event hubs.

Look for the “Trick-or-Treat Here” signs posted at dozens of participating businesses handing out treats. Last year, 20 pounds of candy were distributed — and even more children are expected this year! A full schedule and list of offers and activities is available at rockridgedistrict.com.
