It's often said, "It takes a village to raise a child." Similarly, making one's village safe may be best achieved through collective effort.

Cuts at OPD have left us vulnerable. The police point out, correctly, they cannot do it all. Forming Neighborhood Watch groups is one way we can protect ourselves.

At the November RCPC Town Hall, we will hear from successful neighborhood watch groups in Rockridge. We will learn what it takes to form a group and keep it going, and what advice they have for new groups.

Join us Thursday, November 21, 7 p.m., at the Rockridge Branch Library. Note the start time: The program will begin at 7:30, but please come at 7 p.m. to join us for light snacks and to meet your neighbors.

So that we can plan for refreshments, please RSVP: info@rockridge.org
