The FROG survey has closed and the results are in. Summarized opinions will help guide Frog park improvements and FROG committee decisions.

Many filled out the survey online or completed paper versions handed out at the park area and greenbelt. There were 278 Frog Park patrons and community member respondents.

Results showed the following highest importance and priority ratings:

In August 2011, the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV), without notice, removed 14 trees located along the banks of the creek and in the agency’s parking lot at Miles Avenue and Cavour Street.

September Maintenance Day for FROG Park

Save this date! Saturday, September 18, is Fall Maintenance Day. Work will continue throughout the weekend and possibly beyond. The Park will be closed during this time.

FROG plans to completely replace the playground wood chips (fibar) and perform maintenance on the structure itself. Anyone interested in helping should contact Howard Ferrier at hwferrier@frogpark.org.

Earth Day Cleanup & FROG Family Fest

Celebrate Earth Day at Frog Park and the Greenbelt, a city of Oakland featured volunteer site sponsored by FROG and the DMV Neighbors Association. Come to a family-friendly cleanup and stay for a special FROG Family Fest with great kid activities.

Let's get our park ready for summer fun, 9 a.m.-12 noon. Help replant the butterfly garden, sift sand, clean up, and prepare the pond and creek bed for the creek turn-on. Bring your own tools or use ours. Coffee and refreshments provided. Stay for half an hour or the entire morning, rain or shine.

Creek-to-Bay Day at Temescal Creek

Love creeks? Want to do a coastal cleanup close to home? Join the DMV Neighbors Association on the banks of Temescal Creek for our annual Oakland Creek-to-Bay Day cleanup Saturday, September 21, 9 am to noon. Sign in at the corner of Redondo and Cavour. Volunteers will be treated to pastries and coffee at the sign-in table.

Families and groups are welcome.

Frog Park Fall Maintenance Day

Saturday, September 7, 2013 - 8:00am - 4:00pm

Frog Park play areas will close all day Saturday, September 7, for the park’s annual maintenance day. Park volunteers will clean and seal wooden play structures, replace plants, sift sand, clear the creek, remove graffiti and take care of general cleaning.

The College Preparatory School freshman class and their advisors and teachers will help again this year. The play structures will be closed until Sunday as the sealer will be wet.
